Blue Cross NC seeks a Principal Solution Architect (Data Focus) to provide enterprise-level architecture leadership across complex business and technology initiatives. This role defines solution direction, guides large-scale investments, and ensures alignment with architecture standards, security, and long‑term strategy.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field.
• Experience developing enterprise technology strategies and leading large-scale architecture initiatives.
• Deep expertise in two or more areas including Data & Analytics, Cloud, Software Development, Integration, Infrastructure, or Security Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, modern integration patterns, APIs, and platform engineering practices.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and delivering AI-enabled business solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define solution strategies, roadmaps, standards, and reference models supporting objectives.
• Lead architecture for complex initiatives across stakeholders, teams, vendors, and delivery.
• Design and govern scalable enterprise data architectures with governance and analytics in mind.
• Drive decisions across cloud platforms, data solutions, APIs, event-driven architectures, databases, and apps.
• Enforce standards, governance, and security requirements for scalable, resilient solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and conduct proofs of concept to accelerate modernization.
• Identify risks and dependencies while ensuring performance, reliability, and security.
• Guide architecture activities through the SDLC with Agile delivery teams.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to architects and engineers on best practices.
• Communicate architectural vision and trade-offs to executives and technical audiences.
