Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead strategic data analytics and deliver complex data science and engineering projects that drive enterprise decisions. You will own delivery of multiple large and/or complex data science initiatives and partner with business and technical teams to translate data into actionable outcomes.

You will design scalable data pipelines, build production models using Python and R, and leverage Snowflake alongside data mining and predictive analytics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; advanced analytics experience preferred.
• 8+ years in related field; equivalent 10+ years without degree.
• Proficient in data science methods and big data systems.
• Experience with Snowflake and AI agents a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and testing of hypotheses across data sets.
• Define integrated data models across sources.
• Design scalable data pipelines for ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and validation.
• Build production models using Python and R.
• Engineer new data sets and resolve data quality issues.
• Communicate insights to cross-functional leadership.
• Document analytic processes and validate results.
