Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead complex analytics projects that translate data into strategic decisions across the enterprise.

You will own end-to-end delivery of large data science initiatives, build scalable data pipelines, and partner with business and IT teams to drive measurable outcomes. Strong experience in data modeling, Python/R, Snowflake, and healthcare analytics is required; leadership and communication with executive stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field; 8+ years of experience.
• Healthcare analytics experience, especially Payment Integrity/FWA.
• Strong data modeling, data mining, and statistical analysis.
• Experience with Snowflake and SQL queries.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and testing of hypotheses across data sets.
• Design and implement integrated data models and scalable data pipelines.
• Develop production models using Python and R.
• Communicate results to cross-functional leadership; drive business insights.
