Job summary

CommUnityCare seeks a Principal Data Scientist to lead its data science organization, advancing population health analytics and care management. You will drive model development, validation, and adoption while ensuring reproducibility, rigor, and equity across enterprise AI initiatives.

You will work with Epic, Azure, and Snowflake data sources, guiding analysts and partnering with clinical teams to deliver impactful insights and scalable solutions in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• PhD or professional degree in statistics, biostatistics, data science, epidemiology, public health informatics, computer science, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of applied data science or statistical modeling after PhD.
• 3+ years in healthcare/public health data environments.
• 2+ years building and monitoring production ML models.
• 3+ years leading data science teams and mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a data science team ensuring scientific rigor and reproducibility.
• Develop and operationalize predictive models for population health and care management.
• Govern AI projects with risk assessments, validation, and ethical considerations.
• Collaborate across clinical, population health, and analytics groups to translate needs into data science problems.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and equity in analytics and AI solutions.
