Job summary

Amazon in Seattle is seeking a Principal Data Scientist for AWS Analytics Engineering to lead the science strategy across AWS Compute, GenAI & Agents, Database & Analytics, and Storage. You will partner with GMs and VPs to translate complex business challenges into innovative scientific solutions and raise the bar for rigor in data science across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• 10+ years of data scientist or similar role with data extraction and modeling experience.
• SQL and Python/R scripting proficiency.
• Experience with deep learning, causal inference, and experimentation systems.
• Proven ability to influence senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define the science strategy across AWS services and set technical direction for ML-driven analytics.
• Partner with GMs, VPs, and senior leaders to translate business challenges into scientific solutions.
