Job summary

Nebulock, based in Boston, MA, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead cross-functional data platform initiatives. You will own ingestion, transformation, and search layers powering behavior-based hunter workflows for enterprise security customers.

The role targets engineers who have built and scaled large distributed systems, processing billions of events daily. You will mentor junior engineers, drive architectural changes for latency and reliability, and collaborate with product

Qualifications

8+ years building large-scale distributed systems
Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Rust, or similar
Hands-on experience with Kafka or other event streaming systems
Experience with search/analytics over large datasets
Strong systems thinking and trade-offs awareness
Experience with AWS or GCP
Ability to adapt, iterate, and ship quickly
Hunger for growth in a low-ego environment

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines ingesting TBs of telemetry daily
Own API and event stream integrations across many data sources
Collaborate with product to deliver data solutions for customers
Shape engineering standards including observability and automated testing
Mentor junior engineers and help grow the team
Guide architectural directions to enable rapid product capability development
