Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking an experienced, product-minded principal software engineer to help Town Lake scale from a fast-growing internal platform into the foundational data infrastructure for the entire company.

You’ll lead technical architecture and drive implementation for services across our stack, covering access control, ingestion framework, AI-driven data classification, governance, data product/ELT, dashboards and query tooling, among others.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience focusing on data infrastructure.
• Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
• Extensive experience with data infrastructure at scale (Trino, Iceberg/Delta Lake, Kafka, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL).
• Experience designing, building and debugging data pipelines at scale.
• Proficient in Go, Python, TypeScript, and SQL; knowledge of Rust is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define, design and execute strategic technical architecture for highly visible data infrastructure.
• Lead the design and development of tools and infrastructure to improve and scale data systems at Cloudflare.
• Develop data pipelines and products to serve internal customers; automate delivery of services.
• Become a subject matter expert across data platforms to guide stakeholders with data needs.
• Work across the stack including Kubernetes, Trino, Iceberg, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL using Go, Python, TypeScript, Rust.
