Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Principal Engineer for the Developer Tooling team to build and operate AI coding tools used by thousands of engineers. You will own end-to-end delivery, mentor teammates, and help scale AI-assisted development across Cloudflare’s engineering org.

You’ll collaborate with DevTools leadership, contribute to platform engineering and developer-productivity initiatives, and drive responsible ownership of complex tooling in production.

Qualifications

• Strong coding ability in TypeScript, Go, Rust and Bash.
• Experience with source control, branching, merging and rebasing.
• Experience deploying and operating on Kubernetes or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Ship features for our AI coding tools (principal engineer level).
• Build and improve AI and other developer-observability tools.
• Build AI agents and maintain context engineering configurations.
