Job summary

Stand is building the self-driving insurer. You will own the warehouse, governance, and semantic layer that underpins underwriting, pricing, and leadership decisions. You will partner closely with actuarial, underwriting, and applied science to translate data into decision-ready insights.

Expect a fast-moving, foundational role shaping a scalable risk platform. The role emphasizes data quality, model-driven metrics, and secure data access, with a culture of experimentation and rigorous testing

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of industry experience.
• Experience migrating a live analytics store to a warehouse in production.
• Hands-on with dbt in production and data-quality tooling.
• Designing schemas and metric definitions for non-engineers use.
• Familiarity with authorization and access-control patterns for data.

Responsibilities

• Build a four-part platform: data warehouse, governance console, semantic layer, and sanitized data mirrors.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Underwriting, and Applied Science to derive insights.
• Deliver governance-first pipelines and a diagnostics console for non-engineers.
• Create a single source for leadership reports: leadership pipeline, loss ratio, and premium reporting.
