Job summary

Early Warning Services, LLC, a trusted name in payments, seeks a hands‑on Principal Engineer to shape architecture and engineering direction for enterprise data platforms and data products. You’ll lead data ingestion, transformation, modeling, quality, governance, and consumption, partnering with Product, Security, and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Typically 15 years of experience with 8+ in FinTech, and complex software projects.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and major technical initiatives.
• Hands‑on with modern data platforms using Databricks, Spark/PySpark, Kafka, Snowflake, Python.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP and SDLC/DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Owns technical product design and architecture for enterprise data platforms and cloud capabilities.
• Develops target‑state and transition architectures for modernization and continuity.
• Partners with Product Management to translate strategy into data capabilities and roadmaps.
• Establishes reusable patterns, data contracts, domain models, and standards across teams.
• Leads modernization of legacy and on‑prem data to cloud‑based architectures.
• Collaborates with Security, Infrastructure, Cloud Platform, SRE, and Data teams for scalability and data quality.
• Coaches and mentors engineers and technical leaders; remains hands‑on evaluating technologies.
• Interacts with internal/external customers to align data needs with product capabilities.
• Produces architecture reviews and design reviews for leadership audiences.
