Job summary

GreenSky LLC is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to design and execute testing for BI and Data Warehouse projects. You will write and optimize SQL for Snowflake and MS-SQL Server, create automated Python/SQL test suites, and validate SSRS/Tableau reports. You will develop ETL test frameworks with Talend and mentor junior engineers in testing practices.

The role involves agile collaboration with stakeholders, documentation of artifacts, and ensuring data accuracy across dashboards and reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
Experience with SQL and T-SQL in Snowflake and MS-SQL Server environments.
Advanced knowledge of Python for scripting and automated testing.
Experience validating and testing reports in SSRS and Tableau.
Direct experience with Talend ETL tools.
Experience working in agile teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
Developing automated validation routines for reports and data metrics.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute test plans and strategies for BI and Data Warehouse projects.
Write, optimize, and automate complex SQL queries for Snowflake and MS-SQL Server.
Create and maintain automated test suites in Python and SQL for data validation and quality checks.
Validate BI reports built with SSRS and Tableau for data accuracy.
Develop/test ETL frameworks using Talend to ensure pipeline quality.
Document test artifacts and collaborate with report developers and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
Participate in agile ceremonies and mentor junior engineers on testing best practices.
