Overview

GreenSky is looking for a Data Quality Engineer to ensure reliable, accurate data for business intelligence by designing quality frameworks, building validation rules, creating ETL/ELT processes, profiling/cleansing data, and collaborating with stakeholders to define standards, often using SQL, Python, and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery) to support data architecture, governance, and reporting.

Qualifications

Education – BS in Computer Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, or other relevant degree(s)

  • Hands on experience with Automation testing using Typescript
  • Manual QA testing experience
  • Performance testing experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, Agile environment, Scrum and Kanban, with short turnaround times
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to understand and explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with Snowflake 3+ years
  • 2-4 years database experience, preferably SQL
Desired but not required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Fintech company
Responsibilities
  • Developing standards for data quality and ensuring that these standards are followed throughout the organization
  • Evaluating the quality of data received from data sources to ensure that it meets company standards
  • Creating or updating data models to ensure that data is stored in an organized manner
  • Working with other departments to establish procedures for data collection and analysis
  • Creating reports on data quality issues and recommending solutions to problems
  • Reviewing data to identify patterns or trends that may indicate errors or inconsistencies
  • Creating and implementing plans to improve data quality by identifying causes of errors or discrepancies and determining effective solution
  • Recommending new data collection methods or technologies as needed to improve the quality of data
  • Consulting with other departments to determine how new data standards will affect their operations
  • Proven track record (3+years) of successfully executing data quality activities including data validation, root cause remediation improvement, governance, and measurement
  • Automate regression test and perform functional, integration and load testing
  • Perform data validity, accuracy and integrity test across different components of the GreenSky system
  • Proactively solve problems and suggest process improvements
  • Triage issues by analyzing the logs and working with the development team until the issues are resolved
  • Use SQL queries and analyze log files to test various ETL and data pipelines
  • Provide test case coverage and defect metrics to substantiate release decisions
  • Articulate issues to developers during meetings and particularly in the daily standups
Benefits and Compensation

Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this role ranges from $95,000 per year to $140,000 per year. Compensation will be determined by several factors, including relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is also eligible to receive an annual bonus within a comprehensive total rewards package, alongside a full suite of medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, life insurance, 401k retirement benefits, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid personal/sick time.
