Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago seeks a Principal Data Engineer, AI Enablement, to design, develop, and maintain data solutions that advance our AI and ML use cases across the pharma value chain.

You will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, architects, and business analysts to deliver scalable data pipelines, deploy ML models, and integrate LLMs for data mining, knowledge extraction, and automation of insights.

Qualifications

• Must have advanced degree relevant to data engineering and AI enablement.
• Experience with building data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data models.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed data processing like Spark.
• Experience with CI/CD, data quality controls, governance, and security.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional team to deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable AI-ready data solutions for pharma data.
• Integrate LLMs and AI tools for data mining and knowledge extraction.
• Operationalize ML models with deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
• Translate user needs into expressive data models enabling graph analytics.
