Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Data Engineer - AI to lead data engineering, analytics, and AI solution delivery. The role partners with product owners and engineers to define scalable architectures, governance, and secure data platforms. Remote work is supported for a duration of 2 years.

You will drive AI-enabled data products, establish standards for MLOps, and mentor engineers while aligning with enterprise technology strategy.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise data engineering, architecture, analytics, and AI.
• Experience leading architecture decisions, technical strategy, and engineering standards across multiple teams.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Power BI, and modern cloud-native technologies.
• Strong understanding of Data Mesh, Data Federation, Data Modeling, Data Governance, and Enterprise Data Management.

Responsibilities

• Define engineering strategy, architecture, roadmap, and technical direction in partnership with stakeholders.
• Ensure implementations align with standards, objectives, and enterprise strategy.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data, analytics, and AI solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership including reviews and design discussions.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices to improve reliability, security, and delivery quality.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross‑functional squads to ensure architectural consistency and platform reuse.
