About the Job

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Data Architect to join our Cloud Data Engineering Practice. The Principal Data Architect will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of complex cloud-based data solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud data and analytics technologies.

Responsibilities

1. Define strategic roadmaps and targeted outcomes for our clients in a consultative capacity
2. Act as a data engineering SME to define upcoming engagements working with our pre-sales teams
3. Perform technical interviews for Architect and Engineer candidates as well as provide technical guidance to Architects and Engineers
4. Oversee the development and implementation of data standards and operating procedures

Requirements

1. At least 4 years of experience in AWS data landscape
2. 10 years of experience designing and building complex data systems as well as experience in these areas:
3. Traditional Data (At least 2):
1. Relational database design, optimization and migration
2. Data modeling for both transactional and analytics systems including implementation of industry standard data models
3. BI dashboards and visualizations
4. Data Governance and MDM
4. New Data (at least 2):
1. Big data processing using Spark, Streaming solutions, and NoSQL
2. Machine Learning and MLOps with proficiency in Sagemaker
3. GenAI Foundational Models as well as approaches and frameworks used in conjunction with them with proficiency in Bedrock.
4. DataOps practices (Infrastructure as Code, Data Testing, Data Versioning, etc)
5. Experience with at least two of these:
1. Infrastructure as Code tools
2. CI/CD pipelines and tools
3. Python for analytics (numpy, pandas, matplotlib etc) and automation
6. Strong drive towards standardizing and documenting our approach and solutions
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Base Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $185,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Compensation Components: In addition to the base salary, the compensation package may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives. The specific components will vary depending on the role and individual and/or company performance.
