Job summary

Atlas OT LLC seeks a Principal Controls Engineer to define technical direction for integrated automation and OT solutions across industries, including energy, manufacturing, and water. You will act as the final technical authority on complex programs involving RTU, PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems, shaping design, testing, procurement, and deployment at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; advanced credentials preferred (e.g., ISA CAP, PE).
• Minimum of 20,000 project hours across multi-site system architecture and oversight (10+ years).
• Experience developing and reviewing control narratives, P&IDs, SIS.
• Industry authority via white papers, conference talks, or ISA/IEEE involvement preferred.
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering knowledge sharing culture.
• Must have valid driver’s license and willingness to travel; drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Define Atlas OT’s 5-year technology roadmap and OT strategy.
• Serve as final technical authority on complex, multi-platform programs.
• Govern global code libraries and IEC 61131-3 standards.
• Architect secure OT networks; IDMZ and IEC 62443 compliance.
• Set and enforce engineering quality standards across roles.
• Lead advanced process control and alarm rationalization efforts.
• Estimate project hours and BOMs with Sales and PM.
• Contribute to business development presentations to win accounts.
• Approve critical deliverables: specs, logic, final designs.
• Design cross-industry solutions (Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage).
• Mentor engineers and reinforce Atlas OT standards and values.
• Uphold QA processes and regulatory compliance.
