Job summary

Carrier is seeking an accomplished Principal Controls Engineer to lead architecture, development, and deployment of control solutions across HVAC and refrigeration products. The role involves guiding strategy, technology roadmaps, and engineering best practices in a fully onsite setting.

The position requires a technical degree with extensive controls experience and the ability to work across multiple business units, delivering high-quality, production-ready control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 10+ years of advanced controls system experience or Master’s with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience with industrial control applications and vapor-compression cycles is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of feedback control, multivariable control, system identification, and predictive control.
• Proven ability to lead architecture, development and validation across product lines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and adoption of common controls platforms to accelerate product development and ensure consistent product quality.
• Develop and deliver robust, production-ready control solutions with compliance to requirements and standards.
• Drive project execution by setting technical goals, timelines, and coordinating teams.
• Provide technical leadership in advanced control algorithms and physics-based plant models.
• Plan and execute MIL, SIL, and HIL testing; lead laboratory and field validation activities.
