Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Principal Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership in modeling and control across HVAC and refrigeration products. This onsite role in East Syracuse, NY involves leading platform development, architecture, and verification, while guiding technology roadmaps and best practices.

You will develop and validate control algorithms, models, and tests, including MIL/SIL/HIL, and collaborate across business units to improve reliability and performance of complex systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 10+ years of advanced controls experience.
• Master’s degree with 7+ years of advanced controls experience.
• PhD in Electrical, Control Systems, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of common controls platforms across product lines.
• Deliver robust, production-ready control solutions meeting requirements and standards.
• Set technical goals, manage timelines, and coordinate teams.
• Support system-level requirements and low-level control decomposition.
• Develop advanced control algorithms, models, and validation activities.
