Job summary

Amazon is seeking a visionary Lead Concept Industrial Designer to translate the Design Director’s vision into the form language of our next‑gen robotic platforms. You will own early ideation and proportional development, delivering concept CAD envelopes before handoff to surfacing.

You will work with Mechanical, Motion/Robotics, and Hardware teams to integrate motor packs, cooling, batteries, and sensors into an appealing envelope while maintaining a strong design language across multi‑component

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Design/Innovation or related field with product realization experience.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on complex robotics features.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Transportation Design or related field required.
• Expert-level proficiency in multiple design tools with strong 3D sculpting ability.
• Portfolio showing proportion, hierarchy and unified aesthetic for multi‑part devices.
• Understanding of dynamic clearances, packaging volumes and thermal considerations.
• Ability to deliver clean STEP/mesh files for downstream surfacing.

Responsibilities

• Lead rapid 3D form and volume exploration for robotic enclosures and chassis.
• Establish cohesive visual brand language across the robot platform.
• Explore panel interactions, motion clearances and dynamic ranges.
• Deliver organized CAD envelopes with design intent to surfacing teams.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Motion/Robotics, and Hardware leadership on integrations.
