Elastic is seeking a Principal Competitive Intelligence Manager to join the Product Marketing organization focusing on Search. The role analyzes competitive landscape and delivers actionable insights to shape go-to-market strategies and positioning against competitors.

The candidate will partner with sales, marketing, engineering, and leadership to craft differentiating messages and enablement materials, with a strong emphasis on eloquent communication across audiences.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the Search market, key players and trends.
• Experience in sales engineering, technical marketing, or competitive analysis within the search industry.
• Ability to translate technical features into business value for diverse audiences.
• Excellent communication across levels, from technical experts to senior executives.
• Engineering background is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement a competitive intelligence program for Search, including analysis of competitors' products, pricing, packaging, marketing strategies, and financial performance.
• Create battlecards, bulletins, training, and comparisons that tell the story of Elastic's differentiation.
• Track and communicate competitive developments and respond to market changes.
• Develop proof points and external blogs to communicate differentiation.
• Collaborate on the Win/Loss program and advise sales strategies and product decisions.
• Maintain understanding of the search market, trends, dynamics, and SWOT.
• Collaborate with product marketing, product management, and sales on competitive positioning for new products/features.
• Participate in industry events to monitor trends and shifts.
