Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking an experienced coating scientist/leader to drive assessment, development, reformulation, and quality improvements across products. You will lead R&D programs with strategic significance, develop new coating solutions, and collaborate with customers, sales, and manufacturing to ensure a smooth flow of product information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
• 11–15 years in coatings product development, operations, quality, technical, or sales.
• Flexible work schedule to adapt prioritization changes and needs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; presentations skills.
• Results oriented with ability to lead Root Cause investigations.
• Direct customer interaction and complex problem solving.
• System knowledge of Watson, MES, Product Vision, Discovery, and PV/QAD/Horizon.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the assessment, development, reformulation, quality, maintenance, and enhancement of products with clear, accurate results.
• Demonstrate innovation in developing new projects and R&D programs of strategic significance.
• Develop new products and methods, improve existing products, and solve problems.
• Identify and lead strategic projects and assess technology solutions.
• Provide technical support to customers, sales, and manufacturing to ensure flow of product and information.
• Develop innovative coating solutions and test methods to differentiate our offerings.
• Mentor and coach technical staff; lead multiple complex projects concurrently.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain laboratory documentation.
