Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Principal Network Developer to lead network expansion, automation, and deployment across data centers. You will work with engineering, automation, hardware, and operations teams to deliver reliable cloud infrastructure at hyperscale.

Role requires ~25% travel to OCI data centers, including Abilene, TX, for network builds, commissioning, and milestone support. You will design, implement, and validate scalable network solutions and drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred with 8+ years related experience.
• Experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment.
• Knowledge of Python for automation and datacenter design.
• Exposure to Broadcom/Mellanox Ethernet hardware and networking protocols (BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS).
• Experience with Internet peering and inter-domain networking.
• Scripting or automation experience; datacenter design exposure.
• Experience with network modeling and programming – YANG/OpenConfig/NETCONF.
• Knowledge of network security, performance testing and telemetry.
• Strong judgment, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops advanced network systems for scalable data center or cloud environments.
• Validates production networks and develops scaling strategies for diverse use cases.
• Leads solution architecture discussions and guides design decisions.
• Mentors engineers and serves as SME in cross-functional activities.
• Develops automation scripts and dashboards to support monitoring and reliability.
• Creates playbooks for resolving network issues and participates in incident response.
• Collaborates with vendors and internal teams on hardware and software requirements.
• Drives cross-team communication with product and networking leadership.
