Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to own scalable, multi-cloud infrastructure powering Snap's services.

You will help build and operate service mesh, compute, network, and deployment infrastructure, collaborating across teams to translate product needs into robust technical solutions. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in software development, deep distributed-systems experience, and a track record of leading technical direction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS, math, stats) or equivalent years of experience.
10+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s +9+ years; or PhD +6+ years.
2+ years of technical leadership or domain-expert experience.
Experience leading engineering projects and setting technical direction.

Responsibilities

Own highly scalable, distributed, multi-cloud infrastructure for Snap services.
Build and operate Snap's Service Mesh, Compute, Network, and Deployments Infrastructure.
Collaborate across teams to translate product requirements into robust solutions.
Advocate for availability, scalability, and cost management; drive operational excellence.
Provide technical direction that influences the entire company.
