Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a senior software leader to own highly scalable, multi-cloud infrastructure powering our services. You will design and operate the service mesh, compute, network, and deployment infrastructure, collaborating across teams to translate product needs into robust systems.

You will advocate for availability, scalability, and cost discipline, set technical direction for engineering, and mentor teams. Hands-on expert in distributed systems with cross‑platform experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent years of experience.
• 10+ years of post-Bachelor's software development experience, or a Master’s degree plus 9+ years of post-graduate experience, or a PhD plus 6+ years of post-graduate experience.
• 2+ years of technical leadership or acting as a domain expert for a technical organization.
• Experience providing technical leadership and ownership and setting technical direction for engineering projects.
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing distributed systems.
• Hands‑on knowledge of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and operational excellence patterns and practices.
• Excellent programming and software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design.
• Proven track record operating highly available systems at scale.
• Skilled at solving ambiguous problems.
• Strong collaboration and mentorship skills.
• Experience with cross-platform development preferred.
• Advanced technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own highly scalable, distributed, and multi-cloud infrastructure powering Snap’s services.
• Build and operate Snap’s Service Mesh, Compute, Network, and Deployments Infrastructure.
• Work across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions for innovative products and services.
• Advocate for and apply best practices in availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.
• Provide technical direction influencing the entire company.
