Job summary

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team builds and manages a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services. This role focuses on networking control planes and virtual networks, delivering Network-as-a-Service with scalable, secure and observable infrastructure for OCI customers.

You will own system design, scalability, reliability, and security features, drive performance testing, incident management, and automation with IaC.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and architecture of scalable distributed systems with horizontal/vertical scaling.
• Optimize code and systems for large-scale data processing and high-throughput.
• Define scalability requirements and ensure designs meet them.
• Design elastic systems that scale up and down.
• Leverage data plane platforms for large-scale data access and processing.
• Design performance and load testing.
• Build fault-tolerant components with redundancy and automatic failover.
• Handle disruptions with consistency/availability/partition tolerance decisions.
• Address network unreliability with throttling and rate-limiting.
• Design durable systems aligned with SLOs.
• Define KPIs and telemetry to monitor systems.
• Build dashboards, telemetry, and alerts to monitor health.
• Ensure functional and correctness requirements.
• Design fault-injection and brown-out test scenarios.
• Implement data replication and synchronization.
• Diagnose and resolve issues; mentor others.
• Prevent interruptions during issue resolution.
• Maintain expertise on components for troubleshooting.
• Meet operational readiness expectations.
• Support rotations; guide incident response and RCA.
• Security: encryption and access controls.
• Remediate security gaps.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and updated docs.
• Automation scripts and IaC.
• Change management for patching and automation-ready design.
