Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Lead Principal Software Engineer to mentor teams and architect highly scalable, interdependent distributed systems across the network control and management plane. You will drive design for availability, resilience, and performance in hyper-scale workloads.

You will partner with engineering, operations, QA, and vendors to deliver reliable software, implement IaC and automated patching, and guide incident response and RCA processes.

Responsibilities

• Mentor the team in the architecture and design of highly scalable, interdependent distributed systems.
• Lead the identification of performance and scalability bottlenecks and optimize for large-scale data processing and high-throughput requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define system scalability requirements and ensure they meet customer expectations.
• Drive innovation in data plane platforms and design elastic systems that scale up and down.
• Develop and implement automation tools (IaC) and change strategies including patching, updates and rollbacks.
