Job summary

Healthfirst is seeking a Principal Engineer for Infrastructure and Operations in New York to drive cloud strategy and operational excellence. This senior role leads automation, oversees public/private cloud platforms, and mentors engineers to improve resiliency and delivery speed.

Responsibilities include building CI/CD pipelines, establishing SOPs, governing cloud usage, and partnering with development teams to enable rapid, secure deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing, building, and managing Linux/Unix-based and Windows systems.
• Extensive cloud experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
• I&O Engineering work experience including oversight of public and private cloud technologies
• Proven and demonstratable experience with automation scripting tools including BASH, Python and/or PowerShell.
• Extensive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with automation and open-source tools.
• Proven work experience in identifying repeatable processes and partnering with teams to push innovation and automation.

Responsibilities

• Supports private/public cloud systems, OS, middleware, storage, databases and infrastructure products.
• Provide informal coaching and direction to I&O Engineering team.
• Buildout CI/CD pipelines for Healthfirst applications.
• Onboard CI/CD pipelines to development teams.
• Document and design DevOps processes; update existing processes.
• Serve as SME for advanced analysis and resolution of complex issues.
• Develop repeatable automation to deliver capabilities efficiently.
• Implement private cloud Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (HCI) tech.
• Lead cloud usage standards within a Center of Excellence.
• Maintain accurate inventory of server, storage, networking, software and virtual environments.
