Toole Design seeks a Principal Civil Engineer in Silver Spring, MD to lead high-visibility transportation projects and manage scope, schedule, and budgets. You’ll mentor engineers, guide multidisciplinary teams, and collaborate with clients from concept to construction, supporting growth across the Mid-Atlantic.

Applicants should have a P.E. license in DC/MD/VA (or reciprocity within 6 months), 15+ years in transportation engineering, and strong regional networks.

Formación

• P.E. license in DC/MD/VA or reciprocity within first 6 months of employment.
• Proven leadership of multi-discipline infrastructure design and construction teams.
• 15+ years of transportation engineering experience, with at least 10 years managing complex projects.
• Strong networks in the Mid-Atlantic transportation market (DOT, municipalities, consulting firms).
• Bonus: experience in multimodal and roadway design; comfortable presenting on projects and in pursuit interviews.

Responsabilidades

• Lead design and delivery of complex, high-visibility transportation projects; own scope, schedule, budget and financials.
• Guide civil design teams and collaborate with clients and interdisciplinary partners from concept through construction.
• Mentor junior staff and support each person’s growth.
• Perform quality control reviews on projects led by others ahead of major milestones.
• Lead client meetings and help grow our business across Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic.
