Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Principal Business Compensation Analyst to drive Total Rewards strategies in a hybrid role near Houston, TX. You will consult with business and HR leaders, analyze market data, model changes to reward programs, and ensure alignment with HR processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 10+ years related experience in compensation, benefits, finance, and/or human resources.
  • Proven experience serving as trusted compensation consultant to senior leaders.
  • Ability to independently lead complex, cross-functional compensation initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Applies total rewards expertise to design and develop complex total rewards programs.
  • Identifies improvement areas for total rewards strategies and supports strategy development.
  • Communicates with senior managers to guide compensation/benefits decisions.
  • Manages compensation and benefits projects impacting multiple countries, regions or businesses.
  • Assesses impact analysis and legal/financial outcomes of programs.
  • May oversee benefits delivery and vendor partnerships.
  • Contributes to MADO transaction integration strategy.
  • Leads multiple programs concurrently.
  • Builds relationships with total rewards professionals to stay current with market trends.

Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Business Compensation Analyst to work hybrid near an HPE office, preferably in Houston, TX. In this role, you will plan, design, develop, analyze, communicate, and implement Total Rewards strategies and programs aligned to HPE’s business and HR priorities. You will consult with business and HR leaders to develop compensation solutions, analyze internal and external market data, model changes to reward programs, monitor legal and regulatory requirements, and integrate compensation programs with related HR processes such as performance and talent management.

Responsibilities
  • Applies total rewards subject matter expertise in multiple areas of specialization to design and develop total rewards programs of the highest complexity.
  • Identifies areas for improvement to total rewards strategies and contributes to development of total rewards strategy.
  • Communicates with senior managers to deliver guidance and desired results for compensation and benefits programs.
  • Manages compensation and benefits projects that impact employees in multiple countries, regions, or businesses.
  • Is accountable for impact analysis of compensation and benefits initiatives and the financial and legal outcomes of programs.
  • May manage benefits delivery including partnering with vendors and selecting providers.
  • May contribute to the integration strategy for MADO transactions.
  • Leads multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Develops relationships with total rewards industry professionals and/or organizations in order to maintain current market trends knowledge for internal use.
Education and Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 10+ years related experience in compensation, benefits, finance, and/or human resources.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a trusted compensation consultant to senior business and HR leaders.
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex, cross‑functional compensation initiatives and projects.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Complete systematic understanding of total rewards systems, as well as other HR functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of the regulatory environment as it relates to employee compensation and benefits, including emerging legislation.
  • Superior communication, leadership, consulting, influence, and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional financial and business acumen.
  • Excellent project management, problem solving, and analytical skills, and the ability to execute a project within the scope of overall strategies.
  • Meets the licensing or certification requirements of the relevant country or region (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) in the US).

Salary and Compensation

Annual Salary USD 105,500 - 243,000 in Texas. Variable incentives may also be offered.
