Job summary

Navitas Systems seeks a Principal Battery Management System Engineer to lead architecture, direction, and long‑term stewardship of advanced BMS for lithium‑ion products across defense, commercial, and industrial markets.

You will own multi‑generation BMS platforms, guide cross‑functional decisions, and ensure robust, scalable solutions aligned with product roadmaps and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering preferred.
• 15+ years embedded systems experience; 7+ years in battery/energy systems preferred.
• Recognized expert in BMS firmware and system‑level design.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for BMS architecture across firmware, electronics, and system integration.
• Define system‑level BMS architecture, design patterns, and standards.
• Lead safety and reliability trade studies for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Develop and validate core BMS algorithms: SOC, SOH, SOE, balancing, diagnostics.
• Guide DFMEA/FTA and risk assessments; ensure mitigations are implemented.
• Shape end‑to‑end test strategies and service tools for BMS platforms.
