Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is hiring a Cloud Computing Engineer Principal to support VA environments from a remote setting. You will design scalable Azure infrastructure, implement CI/CD automation, and enforce strong cloud security controls across multi-subscription Azure environments.

You will mentor engineers, govern cloud governance, and help modernize enterprise cloud solutions while ensuring HIPAA/FedRAMP/NIST/GDPR/PCI DSS compliance. This role is W-2 and US-based remote.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability cloud architectures.
• Proficiency in Azure security practices and IAM (Entra ID, RBAC).
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and DevOps workflows.
• Strong documentation and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create data flow, cloud, transition, and high-level architecture diagrams for cloud infra and apps.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate automation for CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage permissions in cloud for applications, storage, and services.
• Implement monitoring for cloud architecture and hosted systems for performance and compliance.
• Provide customer-focused support for VA Enterprise Cloud environments and provisioning.
• Support VAEC Azure GovCloud environments, ensuring VIP development, release, and docs adherence.
• Adopt a DevOps mindset with CI/CD tooling and best practices.
• Create Cloud Security Provider Documentation and standards.
• Design VAEC/cloud-hosted solutions and address readiness gaps.
