Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Cloud Computing Engineer Principal to lead Azure cloud design, deployment, and operations for VA Enterprise Cloud environments. The role emphasizes CI/CD automation, security, and governance across multi-subscription Azure deployments.

You will mentor engineers, drive DevOps culture, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST, GDPR, and PCI DSS. This is a fully remote, US-based opportunity with a Public Trust clearance emphasis.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability cloud architecture and Azure security.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST, GDPR, PCI DSS frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Create data flow diagrams and high-level architecture diagrams for Cloud Infrastructure and systems.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate CI/CD automation technologies.
• Manage permissions and security for cloud applications and storage.
• Monitor cloud architectures for performance and policy compliance.
• Provide Cloud support for VAEC Azure GovCloud environments and VIP documentation.
• Lead DevOps practices, define tooling, and mentor engineers.
• Develop cloud-readiness assessments and address gaps in VAEC solutions.
