Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is hiring a Cloud Computing Engineer Principal to support VAEC environments remotely. The role focuses on designing and operating Azure-based cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and governing multi-subscription Azure deployments while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability, and scalable cloud architecture.
• Expertise in Azure services such as Azure VMs, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, VNet, Functions, Entra ID, ARM, Monitor, DNS.
• Experience with Azure security practices including Azure RBAC, DDoS protection, and WAF.
• Proficiency with Azure networking components and multi-subscription governance.
• Ability to design and manage scalable, secure Azure cloud infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Create data flow diagrams and cloud architecture diagrams for VAEC environments.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate CI/CD automation for cloud apps and services.
• Manage permissions for cloud resources and access controls.
• Implement monitoring to ensure performance and compliance with VA/Federal policies.
• Provide cloud support for VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) environments.
• Follow DevOps practices with CI/CD tooling and governance.
• Produce Cloud Provider documentation and security controls.
• Design VAEC/cloud-hosted solutions and address readiness gaps.
