Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks an experienced Azure cloud architect for a 100% remote U.S.-based role. You will design, deploy, and govern Azure infrastructure, ensuring security and compliance while leading DevOps across VA Enterprise Cloud environments.

You will mentor engineers, implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and monitor performance, aligning with HIPAA, FedRAMP, NIST, GDPR, and PCI DSS standards. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services.
• Ability to design secure, compliant cloud architectures for large-scale environments.
• Proven DevOps leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create data flow diagrams and high-level cloud diagrams for Azure environments.
• Design, deploy, and operate CI/CD automation technologies.
• Manage permissions in cloud services for each application and storage.
• Monitor cloud architecture to ensure performance and compliance with VA/federal policies.
• Provide cloud support for VA Enterprise Cloud environments and VIP development requirements.
• Adopt a DevOps mindset with CI/CD tooling.
• Produce cloud security provider documentation.
• Design VAEC/cloud-hosted solutions addressing cloud-readiness gaps.
