Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a seasoned Cloud Computing Engineer Principal to lead Azure cloud initiatives within VA healthcare systems. Remote-first role with a strong emphasis on security, compliance, and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities include designing and operating CI/CD automation, managing cloud permissions, and mentoring engineers. Requires deep Azure expertise, 20+ years of experience, and Public Trust (MBI) eligibility for government programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 20+ years of cloud experience preferred.
• Strong Azure expertise with hands-on experience in HIPAA/FedRAMP compliance.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale Azure environments.

Responsibilities

• Create data flow diagrams, cloud diagrams, and high-level architecture diagrams for Cloud Infrastructure and systems.
• Design, develop, deploy, and operate automation for CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage permissions in cloud for each application, storage, and service.
• Design monitoring capabilities for cloud architectures to ensure performance and policy compliance.
• Provide cloud support for VA Enterprise Cloud environments and VIP requirements.
• Adopt a DevOps mindset with CI/CD tooling knowledge.
• Produce Cloud Security Provider Documentation and governance artifacts.
• Lead cloud modernization and migration initiatives with cross-functional teams.
