Job summary

Medtronic plc is seeking a Principal Automation Engineer to lead automation and machine-vision projects at the Danvers facility. You will drive the automation roadmap, oversee IQ/OQ/PQ validation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

The role requires 7+ years in manufacturing automation, strong leadership, and the ability to travel 10–15% to North Haven and other East Region sites. Onsite in Danvers, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and 7+ years in manufacturing automation.
• Experience leading technical projects within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment and implementing corrective actions.
• Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation and change control.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation and machine vision initiatives, including equipment qualification, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Support automated manufacturing systems through problem solving, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and reliability improvements.
• Develop and maintain the site's automation roadmap and project pipeline to support operational objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging automation technologies for scalable manufacturing.
• Ensure automated systems comply with quality, validation, safety, and regulatory requirements.
