Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Principal Associate to lead risk event and issue management for two fast-growing areas within Retail Bank Risk. The role involves guiding partners through scoping breakdowns, recording events in Fuse, and ensuring containment and remediation.

You will analyze data to identify risks, prepare executive-facing reporting, and drive continuous process improvements, including AI-enabled opportunities. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in operations, risk management, compliance, or audit.
• 3+ years of experience in operations, risk management, or audit is preferred.
• Experience as a Risk Event and Issue Manager is a plus.
• Baseline familiarity with AI and active adopter of these tools.
• Experience using spreadsheets to analyze data and drive reporting.
• Experience using Fuse or other Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Event and Issue lifecycle, including scoping breakdowns and record creation in Fuse.
• Partner with Risk Advisors, Legal and Compliance to understand risk exposure and advise on customer recovery and remediation.
• Guide business partners through root cause analysis to ensure breakdowns are understood and containment is effective.
• Coordinate priorities with dependencies to meet event goals and timelines.
