Qualifications

• 15+ years designing experiences with high influence on product, brand, and systems.
• Portfolio demonstrates UI craft and systems thinking at scale.
• Strong aesthetic point of view balanced with openness to input and collaboration.
• Fluent with mobile design patterns, motion, and platform conventions.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external talent.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve product visual language for illustration, photography, and icons across the app.
• Set direction, guardrails, and quality standards scalable across surfaces.
• Lead photography direction, subject matter, composition, lighting and tone.
• Build illustration systems with style rules and governance for evolving products.
• Collaborate with Product Design, Design Systems, Brand, and Marketing to ensure UI clarity and accessibility.
• Provide rigorous, actionable critiques and mentor team members.
• Operate with a freelance-first mindset: source, onboard, and manage external talent.
• Foster cross-functional relationships to unify design, product, brand, and engineering.
• Demonstrate and teach craft, elevating team output and preserving Oura’s visual identity.
• Explore AI and agentic tools to accelerate creative processes and workflows.
