Job summary

Bridgenext is seeking a Principal Engineer / Technical Architect in the US to lead modernization of legacy Visual FoxPro applications and design cloud-native, service-based architectures on Azure. You will work with business SMEs to convert critical retirement and wealth domain logic into scalable, secure solutions.

The role requires hands-on coding, architecture leadership, and experience with data conversion, APIs, and cloud-native deployments on Azure.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise platforms.
• Experience reading, reverse-engineering, and converting legacy Visual FoxPro code.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and modern distributed patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of legacy Visual FoxPro applications and define retirement path for components.
• Capture knowledge and produce documentation, architecture artifacts, and implementation specs.
• Design and oversee data extraction, cleansing, conversion, and reconciliation across data domains.
