Job summary

Bridgenext is seeking a Principal Engineer / Technical Architect with deep hands-on engineering experience in US Retirement and wealth management. You will lead modernization of legacy Visual FoxPro applications as plans move to a SaaS recordkeeping platform, preserving business logic and continuity.

You will collaborate with business SMEs, design target architectures in Azure and Java-based platforms, and mentor engineering teams through complex modernization programs in a hybrid Greater Boston

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience on enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead discovery and modernization of Visual FoxPro applications.
Capture knowledge from business SMEs and produce architecture artifacts.
Reverse-engineer code to identify critical business rules.
Define migration strategy and wave planning.
Design legacy data extraction, cleansing, and reconciliation.
Define integration patterns using REST/OpenAPI and Azure services.
Mentor teams and ensure regression validation during modernization.
Collaborate with SMEs to ensure functional equivalence.
