Samsung Semiconductor seeks a Principal Engineer to lead architecture and performance research for data center and agentic AI CPUs. Located in San Jose, CA, the role spans workload analysis, microarchitectural innovation, and silicon validation across RTL and modeling, guiding design teams toward architecture decisions and long-term strategy.

The candidate brings deep CPU microarchitecture expertise, hands-on gem5/PPA experience, and strong C/C++/Python skills to drive architectural direction

Competenze

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 18+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience in CPU microarchitecture, architecture research, or performance engineering.
• Experience designing and evaluating high-performance CPU architectures (RISC-V, ARM, x86).
• Quantitative performance analysis and modeling for architectural decisions.
• Hands-on experience with architectural simulators and performance models (gem5).
• Strong programming in C/C++ and Python; develop performance-analysis tools.

Mansioni

• Define architectural vision and performance direction for next-gen CPU platforms.
• Identify opportunities across emerging workloads (agentic AI, memory-centric CPUs).
• Coordinate RTL and silicon validation with design teams; translate architecture to implementation.
• Lead end-to-end performance analysis using simulators and RTL.
• Mentor engineers and drive architectural direction across domains.
• Contribute to patents and publications.
