The principal Airborne LiDAR Systems Engineer role focuses on leading embedded software design for airborne LiDAR and imaging systems that operate in demanding environments. Based remotely in the United States, you will collaborate across hardware and software teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to diagnostics, validation, and overall product quality from concept to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of embedded software architectures for airborne LiDAR and imaging systems
• Integrate software with hardware subsystems including lasers and GNSS/INS systems
• Develop user-friendly operator and maintenance interfaces
• Create automated diagnostic and fault reporting capabilities

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Airborne LiDAR Systems Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will lead the design and development of embedded software for airborne LiDAR and imaging systems that operate in demanding environments. You will work across hardware and software boundaries to support reliable system performance from initial concept through operational deployment. The position also partners closely with engineering teams to improve diagnostics, validation, and overall product quality.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $101,000 – $126,500 annually
