For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Manager, Active Sensors (LiDAR) to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will lead a team focused on advancing active-sensor perception capabilities for autonomous vehicle systems. The manager will own technical direction, team development, and cross-functional alignment to vehicle-level milestones. This position combines people leadership with deep machine learning and robotics expertise to improve detection performance and system robustness in challenging real-world conditions.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $135,000 - $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of machine learning and software engineers, with a focus on performance management and career growth
• Set technical direction and roadmap for active-sensor perception aligned with vehicle-level milestones

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams
• Strong technical foundation in machine learning and computer vision, particularly in 3D geometry and perception failure modes
• Experience developing and deploying production machine learning systems for autonomous driving or robotics
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch, with practical experience in C++ for production systems
• Understanding of lidar sensing and its implications for perception systems
• Experience across the machine learning lifecycle, from data curation to production validation
