Solidigm Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer, AI Transformation in Rancho Cordova, CA. You will lead embedding AI into firmware workflows, bridging AI innovation with storage firmware engineering, and guiding architecture and best practices enterprise-wide.

The role focuses on evaluating AI technologies, deploying LLM and agentic AI pipelines, and building AI-assisted tooling across CI/CD to accelerate development while ensuring secure adoption with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software or embedded engineering experience with C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience building, fine-tuning, deploying, or integrating LLMs and agentic AI.
• Experience designing AI-assisted developer tooling integrated with CI/CD workflows.
• Strong firmware validation techniques including unit/integration testing and HIL testing.
• Excellent technical communication to influence senior engineering leaders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI technologies and define a firmware AI roadmap aligned to priorities and impact.
• Prototype and scale AI tools for code generation, review, testing, and documentation.
• Design and deploy agentic AI, RAG systems, and LLM pipelines for firmware workstreams.
• Build AI tooling across CI/CD, IDEs, and build systems to speed development.
• Identify high-value AI use cases throughout the firmware lifecycle and automation.
• Lead AI strategy within the firmware organization and upskill engineers.
• Collaborate with AI Platform, Security, Legal, IT, and leadership to measure success.
• Architect secure, scalable AI infra and partner with vendors/research orgs.
