Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Principal Engineer to architect and productionize AI-driven patient experiences from intake to ongoing care. You will own cross‑service architecture across the AI stack, partner with researchers to ship robust solutions, and champion reliability and observability across the platform.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive scalable architectural decisions, and balance near‑term delivery with long‑term readiness.

Qualifications

15+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep architectural expertise.
Proven track record influencing technical strategy and delivering cross‑org initiatives.
Strong ability to own service architectures across a full stack and drive production readiness.

Responsibilities

Own Service Architecture for the Applied AI stack, enabling end‑to‑end patient experience.
Productionize AI-driven experiences; partner with researchers to ship robust services.
Instill reliability, observability, and operational excellence from day one.
Mentor senior technical leaders, elevating engineering capabilities across the org.
Navigate ambiguity, remove blockers, and accelerate delivery of strategic initiatives.
Translate customer needs into scalable backend design with strong architectural principles.
Design systems and team boundaries to support sustainable growth and non‑functional priorities.
