UBC seeks a Principal AI Solutions Architect to define architectural direction for reusable AI capabilities across the enterprise. You will lead the design, patterns, interfaces, and deployment approaches, partnering with application, platform, data, DevOps, and security teams to ensure secure, scalable AI solutions.

The role combines hands-on architecture with deployment guidance, ensuring AI capabilities align with enterprise standards and operational needs across enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in software engineering/solution architecture.
• 4+ years designing AI or cloud-native enterprise solutions.
• Experience defining architectural standards and deployment strategies.
• Leadership without direct supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal technical authority for AI solution and deployment architecture across teams.
• Define technical structure, interfaces, and operational requirements for reusable AI capabilities.
• Design end-to-end AI solutions and integrate capabilities into enterprise applications and workflows.
• Establish reference architectures, patterns, and standards emphasizing security, reuse, and governance.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept and production AI solutions, deployment patterns, and components.
• Review solution designs and guide deployment and operation with multiple teams.
• Define deployment, scaling, monitoring, and lifecycle management of AI capabilities.
