Job summary

Dozee is seeking a Principal Engineer in the Bay Area to lead a ground‑up rebuild of the platform using AI technologies. You will define the plan, write production code, and assemble a lean team to carry the platform through years of growth.

This is a builder’s role—not purely architectural or large‑team management. Own the technical direction, roadmap, and ship code yourself while hiring deliberately as the platform scales, all with lean resources and minimal waste.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including senior/principal‑level roles.
• Deep hands‑on experience applying modern AI/LLM tech to production systems.
• Experience architecting and scaling platforms in resource‑constrained environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and roadmap for a major rebuild.
• Write and ship production code as a hands‑on principal engineer.
• Rebuild the platform around modern AI technologies as a foundation, not bolt‑on.
• Build and lead a small, high‑leverage team (about two) and grow it as needed.
• Make resourceful build-vs-buy decisions with lean resources.
• Design for scale from day one to support long‑term growth.
• Own platform reliability, monitoring, and incident response.
• Collaborate with product, clinical, and GTM teams to translate priorities into tech.
• Report progress and trade‑offs to leadership on roadmap and resourcing.
