Boom is seeking a Principal Engineer to set broad technical direction and contribute hands-on in the codebase. You will work closely with the CTO and CDAO to shape the platform and product, staying deeply technical as an individual contributor.

Ideal candidates have extensive software engineering experience, strong architectural instincts, and excellent communication skills to align engineering with business goals. This role offers SF/remote work and meaningful equity.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Track record of designing and shipping complex systems at scale.
• Comfortable operating across the full stack when needed.
• Experience with TypeScript, Python, SQL, AWS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical architecture and system design across the entire engineering organization.
• Lead development of large product features and initiatives.
• Mentor and raise the bar for senior and staff engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design guidance.
• Partner directly with the CTO and CDAO on technical strategy and roadmap.
• Contribute to hiring by assessing senior technical talent.
