Liquid Studios is seeking an AI-native Principal Engineer to own the architecture and drive the content transformation pipeline. You will lead experimentation across LLMs, speech and translation, balancing cost, latency, and quality while mentoring engineers and setting engineering standards.

Remote work with international collaboration across product and AI teams; you\'ll deliver production-grade features that scale across catalogs.

Qualifications

• Senior engineering track record with production systems and cost constraints.
• Shipped generative AI or multimodal systems to production environments.
• Fluency in Python and/or TypeScript; cloud platform experience.
• Distributed orchestration, queues, storage, and long-running workloads.
• Ability to influence system direction through design docs and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Pipeline Architecture: set direction for ingestion, transformation, QC, and delivery; define service boundaries.
• Model and Vendor Strategy: decide what to build, buy, or fine-tune across LLMs, speech, TTS, translation, and video models; bake-offs with new models.
• Cost, Latency, Throughput: own unit economics per minute; manage GPU and API spend.
• Evaluation and Quality: build automated gates and evals for dub naturalness, translation accuracy, and clip selection.
• Enterprise Reliability: define SLOs, observability, incident response, and data handling.
• Rights, Consent, and Safety: address voice-cloning consent, rights, and AI disclosure in pipeline.
• Engineering Standards: set design docs, code reviews, and testing; mentor peers.
• Hands-On Delivery: contribute significant production code and ship roadmap features.
