Job summary

IDC is modernizing infrastructure to an automated, AI-informed model. The Principal of AI Operations & Infrastructure Automation will lead the transformation, building out automation, tooling, and operating models that re-architect provisioning, monitoring, and incident response.

You will directly write tooling, manage a growing team, and partner with AWS to scale capabilities. This hands-on role requires deep experience in AIOps, cloud automation, and IaC, with a track record of delivering

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure/IT operations, including 3+ years leading automation or AIOps initiatives.
• Redesign operations around automation, not just introducing point tools.
• Hands-on AWS cloud infra automation, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AIOps platforms and agentic automation.
• Python automation with REST API integrations.
• Observability and monitoring with modern tools.
• Strong program leadership and executive communication.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end redesign of the infrastructure operating model, moving workflows to automated pipelines.
• Define a phased transformation roadmap with milestones and automation coverage targets.
• Lead change management for the infrastructure team through the transition.
• Build the AIOps layer and deploy platforms with anomaly detection and automated remediation.
• Stand up LLM-assisted triage that classifies, enriches, and routes incidents to runbooks and history.
• Develop predictive capacity and failure models for critical services.
• Automate end-to-end IaC standards and version-controlled automation.
• Deliver self-healing automation for high-volume incidents and automate service request fulfillment.
• Own CI/CD pipelines for operational tooling with testing and safe rollback.
• Lead and develop a team of automation engineers while staying hands-on.
• Partner with AWS and vendors to scale automation and AI-driven ops.
• Establish KPIs and report progress to leadership.
• Set guardrails for AI in operations and ensure secure, compliant operations.
